Touch Football Rules

The touch football competition will be conducted under the rules set down by the Australian Touch Football Association, except where modified below

Event

This is an open teams event

​

Shield Points

The total Shield Points available will be based on the formula contained in the General Rules.

Format

The Touch Football competition will be held as a round robin tournament over 3 days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday). If required teams will be placed into pools.

The are 6 players per side taking the field and a maximum of 10 players on a team.

Each game will be two halves of twenty minutes each. A five minute break will be allowed at half time.

Try’s are worth one point each.

Ladder points

Points are awarded as follows:

• Win – 3 points

• Draw – 1 points

• Loss – 0 points

In the event of a forfeit the team that is available to play shall be awarded the winning points. For the purposes of ‘for and against’ the score line will be five-nil (5-0).

Finals

The top teams in each pool at the end of the round robin will contest in the semi finals with the winners contesting the final.

In the event of two or more teams finishing with the same number of points, their positions will be determined on a ‘tries for and against’ basis using the results from the preliminary rounds.
