Tennis Rules
The tennis competition will be conducted under the rules set down by the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia, except where modified bellow.

Event
The competition will consist of:

Men’s singles
-
Men's doubles
-
Ladies’ singles
-
Ladies’ doubles

Shield Points
The total Shield Points available will be based on the formula contained in the General Rules. The points allocated to each event will be distributed evenly.
​
Format
The Tennis competition will be held as a round robin tournament over 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). If required teams will be placed into pools.
​
Singles & Doubles games
Each match will be the first to 6 games with a standard tie breaker at 5 all
Normal rules apply for swapping ends and on deuce.
Semifinals and finals matches shall consist of one set with a tie-breaker (if required).
The tie breaker will be the first to 7 points with a 2 point margin required

Ladder points
Points are awarded as follows:

Win – 3 points

Draw – 1 point

Loss – 0 point
In the event of a forfeit the players that are available to play shall be awarded the winning points. For the purposes of ‘for and against’ the score line will be six-nil (6-0).
In the event of two or more players/teams finishing with the same number of points, their positions will be determined on a ‘games for and against’ basis using the results from the round robin games.
If the players still can’t be split a 4-game tie-breaker will be played to determine finals match-up.

Finals
The top teams/players in each pool at the end of the round robin will contest a final series.

Equipment Requirements

Players will need to provide their own racquets.

New tennis balls will be provided at the commencement of competition

In the preliminary games players/teams will score their own game. In the finals players not contesting finals will be asked to score.
