Table Tennis Rules
The competition will be conducted under the rules set down by the Australian Table Tennis Association except where modified below.

Shield Points
The total Shield Points available will be based on the formula contained in the General Rules. The points allocated to each event will be distributed evenly.

Format
The Table Tennis competition will be held as a round robin tournament over 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). If required teams will be placed into pools.
A match will consist of a doubles rubber and two singles rubbers ie. A doubles rubber will be played followed by two singles rubbers each against the opposite team.
Singles rubber will consist of three advantage games to eleven. Matches will be decided by the number of rubbers won.
Doubles rubber will consist of three advantage games to eleven
The final will be contested over five advantage games to eleven.

Ladder points
Points are awarded as follows:

Win – 3 points

Draw – 1 point

Loss – 0 point
In the event of a forfeit the person or team who is available to play shall be awarded the winning points. For the purposes of ‘for and against’ the score line will be nil-nil (0-0).

Finals
A final will be contested between the top two players/teams. Where the competition consists of pools the top two players/teams in each pool will compete in a crossover finals series.
In the event of two or more players/teams in a pool finishing with the same number of points, their positions will be determined on rubbers won and lost using the results from the preliminary round. If still tied, positions will be determined on total points for and against.

Equipment Requirements
Players are required to provide their bat.
All other balls and equipment will be provided.
Players will be asked to score finals.
