Ten Pin Bowling

Conditions

The Sports Carnival Committee reserves the right to modify or cancel the sport if insufficient nominations are received.

Shield Points

The winner will receive 15,000 points and the runner-up 9.000 points. The winners of each event will receive 3,750 points and the runners-up will receive 2,250 points.

Rules

The ten pin bowling competition will be conducted under the rules set down by the Australian

Ten Pin Bowling Congress, except where modified by the following:

General

The competition will consist of:

> an open fours teams event (scratch and handicap)

> an open pairs event (scratch and handicap)

> a men’s individual event (scratch and handicap), and

> a women’s individual event (scratch and handicap).

Each bowler will bowl a two game series each day. Team members in the fours and pairs events must bowl in the same time slot.

Competition

The fours teams event (scratch and handicap) will be contested on Monday. The pairs event (scratch and handicap) will be contested on Tuesday. The individual handicap event will be contested on Thursday. The individual scratch event will be based on the total pinfall of all three days of competition.

Handicaps will be determined by randomly drawing three numbers from a hat numbered 1 – 6, and these three numbers determine the games used to establish the average and handicap for each player. The maximum handicap shall be ninety.

Total pinfall of all games in each event will determine the winner of each scratch event. Total pinfall plus handicap of all games in each event will determine the winner of each handicap event. Should two or more teams or individuals have the same total score in any event, the highest last game shall determine their placing.

Medals

Gold and silver medals will be presented after each event to those who won and also the runner-up.
