About the event
The Sports Carnival Committee reserves the right to modify or cancel the sport if insufficient nominations are received.
The winner will receive 15,000 points and the runner-up 9,000 points.
Darts and boards will be supplied.
Players must score their own game.
Winner of game must report result to the sport coordinator ASAP after the game.
The darts competition will be conducted under the rules of the Darts Federation of Australia.
The competition will consist of:
➢ a men’s singles event
➢ a ladies’ singles event, and
➢ an open pairs event.
Each event to be played on a knockout basis with players randomly placed into a draw. All matches in the draw leading up to the semi-final stage will be the best of three legs. All singles games will be 301, open start and double finish.
All doubles games will be 501, open start and double finish. Doubles matches will be played with players in a team taking alternate turns at the board. A team may change the order of play at the commencement of each leg.
To determine the starting order, one player from each team will throw at the bull, and the closest will have the throw in the first leg. In subsequent legs the first throw will alternate. To ensure the flow of play, a player will be deemed to have forfeited if they are not ready to play five minutes from when their game is called.
For both singles and doubles, semi-finals and finals will be to be best of five legs. Semi-finals and
finals will be 501, open start and double finish.
Gold and silver medals will be presented after the finals for the players competing in the finals.
