Cornhole is the Demonstration Sport for the Albury-Wodonga Sports Carnival.

​

Cornhole offers endless fun and excitement for everyone. This simple yet addictive game involves tossing bags filled with corn kernels onto a raised platform with a hole at the far end. The goal? Score points by landing your bags on the board or, even better, sinking them into the hole!

 

With its easy-to-learn rules and inclusive nature, cornholes growing popularity has led to the formation of leagues and tournaments, where players of all skill levels can compete. Grab your bags, gather your friends, and get ready to play cornhole

Cornhole Rules

The cornhole competition will be conducted under the rules set down by the Australia Cornhole Association except where modified below. It is recommended players review the rules at www.iplayaca.com.au/pages/rules


The organising committee may modify or cancel the event depending on the number of registered participants.


Event
This is an open pairs event.


Shield Points
There are no shield points for this event


Format
The Cornhole competition will be held as a knockout competition over 1 day (Sunday). Due to the number of participants the competition will be held in two time slots. Finals will be held at the Rest Day event.


Teams will compete to a score of 21. If play has not been finalised within 20 minutes the team with the leading score is the winner and proceeds to the next round.
If the scores are tied the game continues until there is a one point advantage.
If players have not had all their throws when time is called play continues until each player has completed their throws.


Finals
Finals series will be held between the top two teams from the two Sunday time slots.
The final will not be timed.


Rule Modification
The standard distance between the two boards is 27 feet. This distance will be reduced to cater for the skill level of all players.
